It's the hottest time of year here in RVA. In recent weeks temperatures have reached the 90s and even surpassed 100 degrees some days. Unfortunately, this heat can have a major effect on your RV. At RV Service of VA, the service issues that we see most during this time of year are broken-down A/C units and refrigerators. This can be a huge problem for many families, especially those who are gearing up for their big summer trip.
So, before your family heads out for your summer vacation, here are 3 things that we recommend you do to ensure that you have a cool and stress-free trip... 1. Have Your RV Serviced Regularly The best way to prevent service issues of any kind is to ensure your RV is being serviced regularly. These services include:
2. Start Preparing For Your Trip Early The biggest mistake we see customers make is that they wait until the week of a big trip to prepare their RV for the road. This creates a huge problem if there is a service issue that needs to be fixed, and this is why we recommend that you start preparing your RV at least 2 weeks before your trip. Preparations include cycling your appliances, checking tire pressure, ensuring all interior and exterior lights work, etc. 3. Anticipate Obstacles & Plan Ahead COVID has led to a surge in RV activity in general, which means that here at RV Service of VA, we are busier than ever. This limits our ability to schedule same day service appointments, which is why it’s so important to start preparing your motorhome weeks before your trip. This way if there is, in fact, a service issue, we have ample time to book your appointment and get your RV repaired and ready to hit the road. We hope you've found these tips helpful. WHAT WE’RE DOING... We have relocated our customer service area. For the safety of all guests and staff members, we have closed our Accessories Showroom and Customer Lounge. When you arrive at our facility you will notice that a company 5th wheel is now located directly in front of the building entrance. To receive service, please ring the bell located on the outside of the 5th wheel and one of our associates will come outside promptly to meet you. We kindly ask that you wait at our outdoor seating area while your RV is being serviced. We also have an outdoor restroom facility available for use. All technicians and staff are wearing appropriate PPE in public areas. All team members are wearing face masks and gloves at all times, as well as washing their hands frequently. Additionally, our administrative staff and technicians have been instructed to maintain appropriate social distancing as much as possible (at least 6 ft apart). We’re now doing curbside pickup for parts and accessories. We continue to be the area’s leading provider of hard parts and accessories, which is why we’re glad to be offering our customers the option of curbside pickup. To place your order, just give us a call at 804-798-1433. We will process your order and schedule a contactless pickup for whenever is convenient for you. We are cleaning and sanitizing frequently. We are cleaning and sanitizing all areas of our facility multiple times a day, as well as sanitizing all RVs prior to pick up. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU… Please do not bring additional guests for your service appointment. If possible, we ask that you limit the number of guests that you bring to your appointment including children and pets. To confirm, our customer lounge is currently closed, so you will be asked to wait in the outdoor seating area until your RV has been serviced. Please prepare for weather conditions. As mentioned above, all guests are asked to wait in the outdoor seating area, so please ensure you plan appropriately for weather conditions. We sincerely appreciate your understanding with these updated safety measures. We hope we've made it clear how important your well-being is to us during this time. We thank you for your continued support and are so grateful for the opportunity to serve you! |
